For the beginner, purchasing and the safe use of essential oils is not unnecessary.

Essential oils are not just used for aromatherapy but also in the food and perfume industries and as such there are different qualities of oils. When buying essential oils to use in healing you should just purchase 100% pure essential oils.

It is also recommended that essential oils should not be used by pregnant woman, and the ones that suffer from epilepsy should be attentive with which oils they use. best essential oil

Lavender essential oil- Botanical name Lavendula angustifolia; likely the most widely understood and can be used for so many ailments.

Lavender is famous for it’s sedative properties and helps in treating conditions such as hysteria,insomnia, depression and stress. It’s also helpful in treating headaches and migraines, for coughs and colds, treating bites and small wounds and is undoubtedly an extremely crucial thing for the treatment of superficial burns and sunburn. Author of The Complete Guide to Aromatherapy, Salvatore Battaglia writes that because of the effectiveness with healing burns of Lavender it is used in the burns unit of European hospitals.

Because of the low toxicity of it’s lavender is considered one of the finest essential oils to use safely on kids.

Lavender may also be used for skin conditions such as dermatitis, eczema and acne.

Chamomile, German- Matricaria recutita, botanical name. There are 2 types of Chamomile used in German, Aromatherapy and Roman, I will be giving the German here as it’s nontoxic,non-irritant,non-sensitising and safe to use on children. Chamomiles properties comprise; anti-allergenic,anti-inflammatory,antispasmodic and sedative.

German Chamomile may be used to help infected wounds, treat inflammation,muscular pain,arthritis and sprains. Additionally it may be used to help treat many skin problems such as eczema,psoriasis and another itchy dry skin issues.

German Chamomile is most commonly used with a carrier oil in massage, but may also be used in cold and hot compresses.

Eucalyptus The properties of Eucalyptus comprise; analgesic,anti bacterial,anti-inflammatory,antiseptic,decongestant and antiviral. Eucalyptus can be used to help with concentration but is chiefly used for its antiviral properties in treating asthma,bronchitis,coughs and colds,clearing the airways and loosening phlegm.

Eucalyptus is non-toxic and a non-irritant.

Another great use for Eucalyptus is always to add a number of drops of the oil to a spray bottle of water and utilize it around the house as a room spray as well as on your own kitchen seats. It may also be used when washing your pets bedding.

Tea Tree- Tea Tree oils properties include; antimicrobial,fungicidal, antiseptic and stimulant. Tea Tree oil is non-toxic,non-irritant but may cause sensitivity in some individuals.

Tea Tree oil along with Lavender would be a great addition for your First Aid kit.

The oil aids in fighting infectious organisms for example viruses, bacterial and fungi. It is used to help control dandruff and head lice and can also be used in treating acne with lavender.

The last oil I will be going to add to this list is Rosemary and although it is usually non toxic,non-irritant and non-sensitising it needs to be used with caution as it may not be suitable for those who have epilepsy or high blood pressure and it should not be used by pregnant girl.

Rosemary’s properties comprise; tonic,astringent,diuretic,stimulant and antidepressant.

It may be used in massage or a bath to relieve muscular aches and pains, rheumatism and arthritis. Rosemary also can be used in conditioners and shampoos as it helps hair development.
